If the BMW i3 continues to win awards at the current rate, the stunning new electric car may soon need its own trophy cabinet at BMW HQ.
BMW UK took the top prize for Innovation in Car and Van Manufacturing at the 2013 Energy Saving Trust Fleet Hero Awards 2013 for the design and production of the BMW i3. The Energy Saving Trust praised the i3 for achieving a step-change in electric vehicle design, as well as the innovative production methods that have helped cut emissions from the manufacturing process, making the i3 one of the greenest cars to build as well as to own.
That’s not the i3’s only recent gong. Following its success at the Fleet Hero Awards, the BMW i3 was named winner of the Supermini category at the Next Green Car Awards 2013. The judges commended the i3 for changing expectations of urban electric cars with its impressive driving performance and quality, while maximising its connectivity to enhance the ownership experience.
These awards and the many glowing reviews from the motoring press come as no surprise to Elms Cambridge BMW, one of the exclusive BMW i specialists chosen by BMW UK. The team in Cambridge has been inundated with test drive requests since the launch weekend back in November. If you’d like to know more about the award-winning BMW i3, get in touch.
