Harriet Lee, the Paralympic swimmer sponsored by Elms Cambridge, has made a solid start to her campaign in the pool. Although she’s not a specialist in the event, Harriet still made the final of the Women’s 200 metres individual medley (SM10), finishing 7th.
Competing in the individual medley will have given Harriet a taste of the atmosphere in the Aquatics Centre before she focuses on her main events, the 50 metres freestyle (S9) and the 100 metres breaststroke (SB9).
The breaststroke is Harriet’s strongest event, and takes place on September 8th. Harriet is a genuine medal prospect, and everyone at Elms is hoping she can win the gold.
ParalympicsGB has made a strong start, winning two golds, three silvers and two bronze medals already. That puts the team third in the medal table behind China and Australia.
