Over £23,000 was raised for the charity at the Firefighters Charity Ladies’ Driving Challenge last Sunday, an event Elms BMW is proud to have supported.
Women from all over Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire travelled to Alconbury Airfield for the chance to get behind the wheel of some amazing machinery, including fire engines, ambulances and double-decker buses. Ladies could also try out 44-tonne articulated lorries, go off-road in 4x4s, tow trailers, and play racing driver in a Formula 1 simulator.
Our contribution was to offer a prize for the raffle – a weekend in a BMW.
Matt Cross of the Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We would not be able to run this event without the kind generosity of the sponsors and volunteers so we are very grateful Elms BMW could be involved. The Z4 proved extremely popular in selling raffle tickets and had pride of place outside the main building where the participants signed in and received their certificates, gifts and prizes at the end.”
Congratulations to all the organisers for putting on such a great day and raising such a fantastic sum of money.
